Schottky Diodes

Partners: CNM and Semelab

Semelab has launched a range of 300V and 600V Silicon Carbide Schottky diodes, using Infineon die assembled in hermetic discrete packages. The devices are targeted at high-reliability applications.

Semelab plans to develop a commercial range of 1200V Silicon Carbide Schottky diodes, based on the fabrication process developed by CNM. This represents a real market opportunity as there are presently no European suppliers of 1200V SiC diodes. Semelab expects to start sampling customers in 1Q 2006.

Initially, the diodes will be manufactured at CNM. However, Cree's recent announcement regarding the availability of 4" substrates means that Semelab will ultimately be able to transfer the process to its own fabrication facility in Scotland.
